Meet Your Kanga HostHis father’s name is Joseph, his mother’s name is Mary. Given his parents’ names, the choice was obvious: GODSON!

Meet Godson and his wife, Anitha, along with their three wonderful children – Olivia, and twins Jaylen and Jayoen. The family is of Masai descent but has embraced a modern lifestyle while maintaining a strong bond with their heritage in Arusha.

Your host is not just a passionate, award-winning tour guide, but also an inspiring mentor, always ready to share his high energy and positive attitude. He’s an absolute language talent, making him the ideal host for German-speaking guests. Raised in the neighbourhood, Godson’s family is deeply rooted in the local community, with many relatives nearby. Anitha is an active member of the local Lutheran church choir, adding a warm and musical touch to their home.

Your AccommodationThis Homestay offers a true comfort experience with excellent facilities, including a peaceful courtyard where you can unwind. Although Arusha is a bustling city, this homestay provides the perfect retreat to relax. The homestay is relatively centrally located, making it easy to reach and explore the city center.

Living the Local WayDuring your stay, you might get the chance to join the neighbours for a BBQ or watch a local football match. And when Young Africans (Yanga) and Simba SC face off, the whole country is watching! It’s a great way to connect with the vibrant and friendly community.

While the Maasai are known for their strong tradition of cattle herding, Godson likes to say with a smile: “I’m the only one here without a cow – but my uncle next door? He’s got some, no doubt about that!”

As a tour guide, your host also offers slightly more conventional tourist tours than those typically available at other Kanga Homestays, such as the below-mentioned Maasai Culture Experience.
