Meet Your Kanga Host

In Perasi, or “Prasi” as the locals like to say it with a Balinese accent, you will be warmly welcomed by Wayan Open. He works for the government in disaster management, and you will learn a lot about Balinese culture and the Balinese Hindu religion from him. From time to time, his wife Pipit and daughter Paris will be around as well.

Always present is Uncle Sasa, whose kind demeanor instantly puts you at ease. As he serves breakfast, he already introduces you to the flavours of Balinese cuisine. In the evenings, he will invite you to join his wonderful family for a hands on traditional culinary experience, with the option of a relaxed karaoke session afterwards.

Your Accommodation

You’ll take in an incredible view from your breakfast spot, enjoy a hammock just outside your room, and see papayas, chili, lemongrass growing in the garden. In a ritual at the family temple, Wayan will guide you in honouring the gods, ancestors, and spirits.

The accommodation offers a spacious room, along with hot water and wi-fi. With the thoughtful blend of convenience and the native way of life, you could call it “Kanga light” without compromising the experiences.

A Bat Cave, Virgin Beach and Ceremonies

Your hosts will guide you through peaceful fields where you may harvest green beans, flowers, or rice.

Just a short distance away lies Virgin Beach, where you can truly unwind. Legend has it that your host Wayan, working as the first beach boy, was the one who gave it the name Virgin Beach.

An incredible spectacle awaits at a bat cave, where thousands of tiny creatures take flight at once, filling the sky with a swirling dance.

If you’re interested in learning an instrument, your host can arrange a Gamelan course for you, and if you’re lucky, you might get to witness one of the village’s ceremonies.
